Smart Pavement Solutions Start at the Surface

Surface treatments are the first line of defense in pavement preservation—and we know how to apply them right. At Vance Brothers, we tailor every treatment to your pavement’s needs, ensuring better performance and fewer repairs down the road. With over 100 years in the industry, we bring unmatched experience and attention to detail to every job. Let us help you get the most out of your pavement with solutions that are built to last.

Micro Surfacing

Micro Surfacing is a fast-curing solution that restores smoothness and skid resistance to worn pavement. We apply a specialized mixture of polymer-modified asphalt, aggregate, and additives to create a durable surface that’s ready for traffic in just hours. Our team uses precise techniques and high-quality materials to ensure a consistent, long-lasting finish. It’s an ideal treatment for high-traffic areas that need a quick, cost-effective refresh.

Slurry Seal

Slurry Seal is a preventative maintenance treatment that helps extend pavement life while improving appearance and traction. We apply a carefully blended mix of asphalt emulsion, fine aggregate, and additives to create a smooth, protective surface. Perfect for community roads, parking areas, and subdivisions, our slurry seal applications are clean, uniform, and designed to prevent early deterioration. It’s a smart way to maintain your pavement without major reconstruction.

Chip Seal

Chip Seal is a time-tested surface treatment that enhances durability and skid resistance. We apply an asphalt emulsion followed by a layer of crushed stone, which is rolled in place for a strong, textured finish. This method helps seal small cracks and provides excellent protection from water and oxidation. Our chip seal services are ideal for rural roads and low-traffic surfaces where long-term performance matters.

Scrub Seal

Scrub Seal goes beyond the surface by using specialized brooms to push emulsion deep into pavement cracks before adding aggregate. This treatment is designed for more heavily distressed roads that need both crack filling and surface sealing. Our experienced crews use high-quality materials and controlled techniques to ensure the emulsion penetrates fully and bonds properly. The result is a longer-lasting seal that restores structure and reduces future maintenance needs.

Crack Sealing

Crack sealing is one of the most effective ways to prevent early pavement failure. By sealing cracks before water, debris, and UV exposure can cause further damage, we help extend the life of your surface and avoid costly repairs down the road. Whether it’s roadways, community streets, or facility lots, our team uses high-quality materials and proven techniques to deliver clean, durable results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our crews work hard to repair the paths of travel in your communities and neighborhoods. We know our work may cause disruptions for short periods of time, and we appreciate your patience while this important work is being done.

Microsurfacing is a pavement maintenance technique involving the application of a thin layer of asphalt emulsion and aggregate. It is being done in your neighborhood to extend the life of the existing road surfaces and address minor issues like cracks and surface wear.

During the microsurfacing process, temporary traffic control measures will be in place. There may be short-term lane and street closures, and access to homes might be temporarily restricted. However, efforts will be made to minimize disruptions, and residents will receive advance notice of any planned work.

The duration of microsurfacing can vary, but typically, it is a relatively quick process. Generally residential streets will be surfaced and reopened on the same day, and residents will be informed about any temporary restrictions or changes in advance. The weekly schedule can be viewed on this website.

It is advisable to relocate parked vehicles off the road during the microsurfacing process to allow for unobstructed application. Residents will be informed of any parking restrictions in advance. Cars left on the street will be towed.

Put your trash can out as you normally would. If the trash has not been collected by the time we show up to the street, we will label the bins and move them to an area where they can be collected. We will then move the bins back to your house.
